Usually, aligning the optical path meant test shots, manual adjustments, and trial and error — with no telling how long it might take. With R1, that chore comes down to one small sensor. Mount the Laser Alignment Sensor on the toolhead, and it measures the beam, detects the misalignment, and corrects the path automatically, in just one minute.

R1 puts a touchscreen right on the machine. Follow every job in real time, watch the optical path calibrate, and check the machine's health status — all without a computer.

R1 recognizes Bambu Lab material automatically and applies the right power and speed, so you can skip test grids and manual parameter setup.

Most lasers rely on a single exhaust fan. R1 brings fresh air in from one side and exhausts smoke from the other, creating a steady crossflow through the entire chamber.

R1 is Class 1 under IEC 60825-1 in standard enclosed use. Laser radiation stays contained inside the enclosure, so no safety goggles or dedicated laser room are needed.⁷

Open the lid and the laser stops immediately. It stays disabled while the lid is open.

Built-in sensors continuously watch for signs of flame and respond as soon as one is detected.

One press cuts power to the machine immediately.

Built for R1, E1 Pro⁶ connects directly to R1's exhaust outlet and pulls smoke out at the source. Multiple filter layers, with activated carbon, catch smoke and fine particles and reduce odors.

Powerful Cutting and Engraving

Accurate Placement with TriSense

Drop your material into the machine—even if it is crooked, small, transparent, curved, or uneven. The R1’s TriSense system combines dual cameras, dual lasers, and encoders to locate the workpiece and place the design accurately.

TriSense supports:

Fast Engraving Without Sacrificing Detail

The R1 reaches engraving speeds of up to 1,000 mm/s with acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s².

Bambu Lab’s motion-control and vibration-compensation technologies help reduce artifacts following sharp direction changes, maintaining clean lines and consistent engraving depth even at high speeds.

Automatic Laser Alignment

Traditional CO₂ laser alignment can require thermal paper, test shots, and repeated manual adjustments. With the included Laser Alignment Sensor, the R1 measures the beam, detects misalignment, and automatically corrects the optical path in approximately one minute.

Designed for Safer Operation

During normal enclosed operation, the R1 is classified as a Class 1 laser product under IEC 60825-1.

Raises the machine to provide clearance for taller objects. The Riser Base is also required when using the Conveyor or Rotary Attachment.

Automatic Conveyor Feeder

Processes boards and other long materials up to 3,000 mm in length.

Rotary Attachment

Provides 360-degree engraving on compatible cylindrical and round objects, including bottles, cups, bowls, and similar items.

Medium- and Long-Focus Lenses

Provide greater depth of focus for cutting thicker materials. The standard short-focus lens offers the smallest spot size for fine engraving details.

E1 Pro Air Purifier

Connects directly to the R1 exhaust outlet. Its multi-layer filtration system uses activated carbon to capture smoke, fine particles, and odors.

Technical Specifications

Important Laser Safety Notice

When the R1 is operated with the standard enclosure fully closed, it functions as a Class 1 laser product.

When used with the Riser Base or Automatic Conveyor Feeder, the enclosure is no longer complete and the machine becomes a Class 4 laser system. Class 4 operation requires appropriate CO₂ laser safety eyewear, additional safety controls, and trained professional operators.

Do not process PVC, vinyl, or other materials that may release toxic or corrosive fumes. Confirm the composition and laser compatibility of every material before use.
