The AMS 2 Pro is compatible with multiple Bambu Lab printer series. Some printer models require additional accessories for connection and/or drying. Please choose the option that best matches your printer model and setup needs.

A1 Series

Recommended option: AMS 2 Pro + Upgrade Kit with A1 Hub
- Requires A1 Series AMS Hub to connect AMS 2 Pro unit(s)
- Requires one Switching Adapter per AMS 2 Pro for drying
- Supports up to 4 AMS units total, including AMS HT, AMS, and AMS 2 Pro
Note: AMS Lite cannot be used together with other AMS units.

X1/P1 Series

Recommended option for one unit: AMS 2 Pro + Upgrade Kit with Buffer
- Requires Filament Buffer, PTFE Tube Coupler, and 4-pin Cable
- Requires one Switching Adapter per AMS 2 Pro for drying
- For 2 or more AMS 2 Pro units, choose the AMS 2 Pro + Upgrade Kit with Hub option
- Supports up to 4 AMS units total, including AMS HT, AMS, and AMS 2 Pro
P2S Series
- To connect 1–2 AMS 2 Pro units, a P2S Filament Buffer is required
- To connect 3 or more AMS 2 Pro units, a P2S Filament Buffer and 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter(s) are required
- The printer can power one AMS 2 Pro for drying without a Switching Adapter
- Additional AMS 2 Pro units need their own Switching Adapter for simultaneous drying
- Supports up to 4 AMS units plus 4 AMS HT units
H2S Series
- One AMS 2 Pro: no extra accessory required
- 2 or more AMS 2 Pro units: 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter(s) required
- Supports up to 4 AMS units plus 8 AMS HT units
H2D/H2C Series
- The printer can power one AMS 2 Pro for drying without an extra adapter

Compared with the first-generation AMS, the AMS 2 Pro adds improved filament drying, sealed storage, faster feeding, tool-free filament tube access, and more durable ceramic filament inlets. Tool-Free Filament Tubes Access

Removing snapped filament from the first-gen AMS requires extracting all spools and disassembling the shell with two screws, taking 3-5 minutes. In contrast, the AMS 2 Pro offers direct, tool-free access to filament tubes from the top.

For printing, AMS 2 Pro supports many common Bambu-compatible 1.75 mm filaments, including PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PET, PA, PC, dry PVA, dry BVOH, PP, POM, HIPS, Bambu PLA-CF, Bambu PAHT-CF, Bambu PETG-CF, Support for PLA/PETG, and TPU for AMS; it does not support TPE, generic TPU, damp PVA, damp BVOH, Bambu PET-CF, Bambu TPU 95A, or other carbon-fiber/glass-fiber filled filaments unless specifically supported.

For higher-temperature drying needs, we recommends using AMS HT for better drying performance.

FAQ

Is the AMS 2 Pro compatible with all Bambu Lab printers?

The AMS 2 Pro is designed to work with Bambu Lab printers, but accessory requirements vary by model. Some printers may require a switching adapter, AMS hub, filament buffer, or other connection accessories.

Can the AMS 2 Pro dry filament by itself?

No. The AMS 2 Pro cannot perform standalone drying without being connected to a printer through the 6-pin bus cable. The printer must be powered on and set to filament drying mode.

Do I need a switching adapter?

It depends on your printer. A1, P1, and X1 series printers require one switching adapter for each AMS 2 Pro unit when using the drying function. H2, P2, and X2D printers can power one AMS 2 Pro unit for drying without a switching adapter.

What filaments are not supported?

The AMS 2 Pro does not support TPE, generic TPU, damp PVA, damp BVOH, Bambu PET-CF, Bambu TPU 95A, or other unsupported carbon-fiber or glass-fiber filled materials.

What is included in the box?

The box includes one AMS 2 Pro, desiccant, PTFE tubes, and a Bambu Bus Cable 6-pin. Additional accessories may be required depending on your printer model and setup.
